Smart Olive Farm An innovative project!
Biofunctional & certified Vegan foods are two of the most dynamic and growing sectors of the food industry in Europe and worldwide.
The innovative project “Partnership for Smart Organic Olive Farms & Innovative Products – Smart Olive Farm” is an innovative pilot project, co-funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development, Rural Development Programme 2014-2020, Measure 16 – Action 2, Submeasure 16.1-2 Action II, through which you seek:
The optimization of primary production (higher and higher quality harvest, minimization of inputs, reduction of production costs, respect for the environment),
The production of innovative, competitive Biofunctional foods, based on Olives, certified by Vegan, based on Organic Table Olives, addressed mainly to children, adolescents and the elderly.
The implementation of traceability services from field to shelf.
Project Objectives
Smart olive farm, in the context of the ambitious goals set by the EU “Farm to Fork Strategy”, seeks to launch innovative responses to the following challenges:
The rational treatment of insect infestations (mainly by the Olive Fly) & by fungi (mainly the Glyospore), as well as the implementation of proper and balanced nutrition & irrigation.
The increase of added value in table olive products in combination with the reduction of production costs.
